Association Slovene Philharmonic String Chamber Orchestra
In 2010, the Maribor Festival was organizationally incorporated in the Association of the Slovene Philharmonic String Chamber Orchestra.
The Slovene Philharmonic String Chamber Orchestra is an ensemble composed of fourteen musicians, who are also members of the Slovene Philharmonic Symphony Orchestra. The ensemble was founded in 1993 with the support of the Ministry of culture of Slovenia with the purpose of performing on stages around the country where the larger Symphony Orchestra is unable to appear. In fifteen years of its existence, the ensemble has performed in more than 250 concerts in Slovenia and abroad with numerous renowned soloists. In recognition of its artistic quality, the ensemble received several awards, among them the Prešeren Fund Award in 1999, the Župančič Award in 2004 and the Betetto Charter in 2006.
